Demi Moore Explains Why Her Bathroom Is Carpeted After Photos Go Viral

July 16, 2020

Many celebrities are known for their individual sense of style and Demi Moore is no exception.

The actress, who famously wore bike shorts to the Oscars in 1989, is now showing off her eclectic flair in home decor.

In a recent Instagram post, the “Ghost” star gave fans an inside look to her unique bathroom and it has incited a bevy of thoughts from her nearly two million followers.

“Excited to finally share what I’ve been working on!" Moore captioned two photos of herself sitting on a floral couch while working on her laptop -- in her bathroom.

Although at first glance it appears as though she could be in a home office or one of those sitting rooms found in lavish homes, upon closer inspection you can see a toilet on the left. The room also features brown wall-to-wall carpet, which garnered a lot of attention and immediately went viral.

The online reactions came swift with many expressing their bewilderment.

"This is the strangest late 80s/early 90s looking bathroom I’ve ever seen," one person commented.

“I can't tell if there's a couch in the bathroom or a toilet in the living room,” added another.

“This bathroom is most definitely haunted,” commented a third.

Moore later retweeted one follower and gave her approval to the commentary by writing, "this thread has our whole family howling!"

Shortly after posting the photo, the actress chatted with Seth Meyer virtually during his late night show and explained that the shaggy brown carpet wasn’t her idea.

"That originally was a Bruce Willis choice, not to put it off on him," Moore said of her ex-husband.

And although carpeting in the bathroom seems unusual to most people, she said it’s quite normal considering the Idaho home is in the mountains and it gets “very cold.”

Prior to breaking the internet, the 57-year-old was spending time in quarantine with Willis and their three daughters.

The exes have remained good friends and last month she honored him for Father’s Day.

"Happy Father's Day, Bruce! Your kids are so lucky to have you," Moore wrote in an Instagram post alongside photos which included Willis’ current wife, Emma Heming, and their two daughters.

Seems like their blended families further bonded over the reactions to her bathroom's interior design.
