Elon Musk said this week that he once tried selling Tesla to Apple for a fraction of the electric car company’s current value, but Apple CEO Tim Cook passed on the meeting.

“During the darkest days of the Model 3 program, I reached out to Tim Cook to discuss the possibility of Apple acquiring Tesla (for 1/10 of our current value). He refused to take the meeting,” the Tesla CEO tweeted on Tuesday.

Musk previously claimed that Tesla was “single-digit weeks” away from collapse in 2017, The Verge reports.

The company has since rebounded, unveiling iconic models including the Model Y SUV and the futuristic Cybertruck.

In November, Musk’s net worth shot up to $128 billion after Tesla’s market value climbed above $500 billion for the first time.

Earlier this month, the billionaire said he is “highly confident” that SpaceX will be able to send humans to Mars by 2026, if not earlier, reiterating a goal he first spoke about in 2016.
