Sandra Bullock boards ‘Bullet Train’ action film alongside Brad Pitt

February 10, 2021

Sandra Bullock is feeling the need for speed again.

Bullock is joining Brad Pitt on the upcoming action film “Bullet Train,” reported The Hollywood Reporter.

Based on the Japanese novel “Maria Beetle” by author Kotaro Isaka, the story deals with a group of assassins with different motives on board a train to Tokyo.

In addition to Pitt, the Oscar-winning actress will star alongside Joey King, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, Masi Oka and Andrew Koji.

There were also previous reports that Lady Gaga would have a small role in the project.

The pic will be helmed by David Leitch, who previously directed “Atomic Blonde,” “Deadpool 2,” and “Hobbs & Shaw.”

Despite both being lead stars since the ‘90s, this will be the first time Bullock and Pitt have appeared in a movie together. Their closest big screen connection was after the 56-year-old actress starred in “Oceans 8,” the all-female spinoff of Pitt and George Clooney’s “Ocean’s 11” franchise.

Bullock, who won her Best Actress Oscar for the 2009 film “The Blind Side,” most recently starred in the 2018 Netflix blockbuster “Bird Box” and is currently filming an as-yet untitled drama project for the streaming platform.

While Pitt, 57, followed up his Oscar-winning turn in “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood” with an Emmy nomination for portraying Anthony Fauci on “Saturday Night Live.”

A release date for “Bullet Train” has yet to be announced.
