October 6, 2020

The latest food recall from The Food and Drug Administration includes containers of sliced fruits like apples, mangos, grapes, melons and pineapples.

Country Fresh was the first to voluntarily recall the products after traces of Listeria monocytogenes were detected by the FDA on equipment used in the area where the fruits were packed.

According to the FDA announcement, the products being recalled were shipped to Walmart distribution centers that sent them to stores in the following 9 states: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas

Walmart has removed all the items from store shelves, but consumers are being advised to check their purchases.

The containers in question have the “best if used by” dates between October 3, 2020 and October 11, 2020.

If you do find a container of the sliced and prepackaged fruits, dispose of it safely or return it to the store for a refund. You can also contact Country Fresh customer service at: 1-877-251-8300 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST.

Country Fresh has not received any reports of individuals feeling ill after consuming the products.
