Vanessa Bryant says it was ‘love at first sight’ with Kobe Bryant when they met

November 29, 2020

Vanessa Bryant honored her late husband Kobe Bryant in a heartwarming Instagram post on a very special date.

The day after her first Thanksgiving without her husband, Vanessa shared that it was the 21st anniversary of when the couple first met, People reported.

"Love at first sight 11/27/99 #21," she wrote on her Instagram with an adorable picture of the couple at Disneyland.

Since Vanessa's page is private, a fan page posted the throwback picture of both Vanessa and Kobe.

Vanessa’s husband Kobe and their 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, died in a tragic helicopter crash in Calabasas, California in January.

The crash also killed seven other victims including Gianna’s basketball teammates, Payton Chester and Alyssa Altobelli. The WNBA picked the three girls as the honorary draftees in the 2020 draft.

In February, Vanessa filed a wrongful death suit against the helicopter company that crashed and killed her husband and eight others. Attorneys for the estate of Ara Zobayan, the pilot who was flying the helicopter at the time of the crash, say the civil case against their client should not be held in Los Angeles, as they would not be able to receive an "impartial" jury.

Since the devastating news of Kobe's death, Vanessa has shared many milestones she hit without her husband by her side.

In August, Bryant posted a heartfelt post on what would of been Kobe’s 42nd birthday. On her Instagram page, which has been set to private, Vanessa Bryant wrote about missing her daughter, Gigi, and Bryant and how she wished she could make a birthday cake with Gigi for him.

"I think about your tenderness and patience all the time. Thank you growing up with me and teaching me how to be strong," she writes. "God I miss you both so much."
