2 Broke Girls are officially out of work. The popular show was been cancelled by CBS after 6 seasons.

Negotiations between CBS and the show’s distributor (Warner Brothers Television) were going down to the wire last week, but reports said there were encouraging signs the show would continue.

The cost of the show would have increased for CBS because of the show’s age. The series got off to a huge start in 2011, and it has done quite well in syndication. Ratings, however, have recently fallen off from their previous highs.

Kat Dennings, who played Max on the show, tweeted her reaction to the news this weekend. She said she was proud of the show, and cherishes the lifelong friendships from the show.

Beth Behrs, who played Caroline on the show, tweeted a cast photo. She said the cast would be her family forever.

The show's final episode aired in April.
