The end is near for the hit ABC show Scandal

TVLine is reporting that Scandal's upcoming seventh season will mark the end of the series.

The 100th episode of the show, which stars Kerry Washington, aired last month.

ABC is expected to confirm the news about the show's fate at a presentation next week, according to report. The announcement is expected to be made in a presentation to the network's advertisers about the 2017/2018 television season on Tuesday (May 16).

The show's creator and executive producer, Shonda Rhimes, has not confirmed the news either. However, she has previously said that Scandal's plot likely calls for a shorter engagement than her other shows (like Grey's Anatomy) may have. In fact, Rhimes told NPR back in 2013 that she already knew how the Scandal story would end

Three more episodes of Scandal will air this month as the show concludes its sixth season.

In the meantime, we'll have Olivia Pope's favorite red wine and popcorn ready for the finale.
