Foodie Finds: Sandals Royal Bahamian Edition

February 3, 2017

Everyone know Kelly is the Foodie Find expert in Charlotte. This time she broke out of North Carolina for a unique experience in the most elegant resort in the Bahamas, Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island!

Kelly was able to talk to Chef Leeroy of Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island about the foodie experiences you can have when you visit in the Bahamas. With ten gourmet dining experiences from around the world included, Kelly was able to test tantalizing tastes from Seafood Stew to Escargo.

Chef Leeroy is a big fan of the classic Steak and Potatoes, his recommendation is to check out the Chicken Cordon Bleu in Baccarat. Kelly is a huge fan of Baccarat as well as Gordons on the Pier. Gordons is where you'll get to enjoy fresh seafood cooked just for However, he agrees with Kelly on one dish that everyone should enjoy, Conch Fritters! He brought a plate for us to enjoy.

Now if you have never had a Conch Fritter before this is what you should expect. It's a juicy, chewy treat that has a similar consistency to a Carolina Classic, hush puppies. Think of them as seafood hush puppies. You can try your hand at making your own with some of our local Carolinian seafood at home. You'll have to travel to Sandals to try their special Calypso sauce for conch fritter. The Calypso Sauce is made with Ketchup, Mayo and the part we can't recreate here... the secret Bahamian spices.

Check out the whole interview with Chef Leeroy here, including mouth water suggestions for food to try when you and your special someone are down at Sandals Royal Bahamian.
