Now, many people outside the gaming community have no clue who Ninja (Tyler Blevins) is. So for those of you unfamiliar he is an immensely popular 26-year-old gamer. He's been talked about a lot recently for reportedly making half a million dollars each month.

He finds himself in the spotlight again for comments he made over the weekend in an interview held at an event for Samsung. He was quoted to have said "I don't play with female gamers," "If I have one conversation with one female streamer where we're playing with one another, and even if there's a hint of flirting, that's going to be taken and going to be put on every single video and be clickbait forever."

He has responded to the controversy with this statement on Twitter.

This has caused a lot of backlash in the gaming community. Many Female gamers already feel blocked out of the traditionally male dominated pasttime. Not only by being harassed online by other players but by being left out overall. Check out this article on Vice.com on the subject. Women account for more than 45% of the gaming community in the U.S.
