Jared Leto Reportedly Confirmed To Portray Hugh Hefner In Biopic

October 4, 2017

UPDATE (11/2/17): Jared Leto’s rep claims that previous reports suggesting Leto would portray Hugh Hefner in an upcoming Brett Ratner-directed biopic were unconfirmed. Not only was Leto never tied to the biopic in any regard but he has also decided not to work with Ratner in the future. This announcement from Leto’s rep comes after several women, including Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge, have come forward with sexual assault allegations against the filmmaker.

ORIGINAL POST: Jared Leto continues to light up the silver screen. Fresh after starring in Blade Runner 2049, the Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman has reportedly been confirmed to star as Hugh Hefner in an upcoming biopic following the life of the late founder of the Playboy empire.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Leto intentionally fought for the role of Hugh Hefner after discovering that Brett Ratner (Hercules, Rush Hour, X-Men: The Last Stand) would be directing the film.

Hugh Hefner's life was recently documented in the docu-drama American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story for Amazon Prime.
