Worthwhile Cause

Human trafficking -- is it not incomprehensible? How a person, usually a child, is snapped up into unsafe hands and turned into a slave (will spare the details) There is a powerful just cause that a group of local leaders and myself have found is clearly protecting the innocent and literally thwarting efforts of criminals. If not protected these children are sometimes shipped here in NC. I, Jennifer Steel, am asking you to consider helping in any amount --even 5 dollars goes a long way here. $250 will save a life.  A humble, successful nearby North Carolinian will match with his own $10g once that amount is raised. You truly will make a difference in an innocent child's life.

Local Leadership Group Raising $25k to Fight Human Trafficking is Granted $10k Challenge Match from Anonymous Donor

Nepal Border station intercepts victims of human trafficking before exploitation

In Charlotte, NC twenty-five individuals are participating in a Masterful Living leadership program provided by Gratitude Training, a leadership and community development company committed to inspiring those who participate to create extraordinary results in their life and community, have committed to raising $25k for Love Justice International. The funds will be used to support a border station that intercepts human trafficking in Nepal.

The donation will sponsor a specific station in Nepal for one year. Through a generous anonymous donor, matching funds of $10k will be contributed, and the group is hoping for the public’s help to reach its goal by June 30th.

“There is an estimated 40 million worldwide victims today of modern-day slavery – human trafficking, forced labor and sex trafficking,” said Michele Abraham Castle, the cohort’s Legacy Project Coordinator. “Our group was horrified to find out how many end up here in North Carolina. Our goal is to raise enough funds to save 110 lives from the nightmare of human trafficking before they are traumatized,” she said.

In the previous six months, this station has intercepted and rescued 55 human trafficking victims. The organization also provides emergency support and helps them reintegrate back into society, once rescued.
