UPDATED: 11/6/17: NETFLIX email scam is once again making its rounds on the web, and you'll want to warn your friends and family about it.

The scam is an attempt to steal your banking information. It begins when you receive an email that appears to be from the streaming service directly. It alleges that there's a problem with your billing information, and you have to click a link to update your information, which is on file.

Don't assume that you'd recognize that the email is meant as a scam. One expert told USAToday that the emails are "relatively well-designed." So, yes, you could totally think the email came directly from Netflix.

Do not click that link or give that page any personal information, according to authorities. It could potentiially give hackers access to your banking information.

This was first reported earlier this year in the UK, and it now sounds like it has hit American users in recent days.

If your concerned about your account, you should always contact Netflix directly.
