It's the song that was widely disliked by critics, but yet it was insanely popular. In fact, despite the fact that it has been 10 years, we are certain that you still remember the words to the song. Yes, the Plain White T's topped the charts with their song "Hey There Delilah" 10 years ago this week.

It's the track that we all probably loved to hate on, but yet... it reached number one for a few weeks during the summer of 2007.

Of course, the song wasn't even actually about a real love interest.

The band's front-man Tom Higgenson met the song's star Delilah Dicrescenzo at a party in Chicago. Delilah (who had a boyfriend) was home from Columbia College. Tom and Delilah met through a mutual friend, apparently.

Tom was apparently was "smitten" with Delilah, but Billboard says the pair "never hooked up." They had platonic correspondence for several years, but the pair never dated. DiCrescenzo actually went on Higgenson's date to the 2008 GRAMMYs.

So what is Delilah up to now? Delilah was a nationally ranked distance runner for a while. In fact, she actually acknowledged the song's anniversary on Twitter last week by retweeting Billboard's tweet:

Meanwhile, The Plain White T's released music as recently as 2015.
