Your iPhone has been trying to keep you from typing anything in the first person for the past couple of days, and it's been SUPER annoying.

Many users who are operating on the iOS 11.1 have noticed that when they type an "I" their phone is changing it to "A" and this weird symbol. Apple hasn't released a permanent fix just yet, but we have a temporary solution here.

OK, here's how the bug looks on your phone:

That's SUPER annoying, right? How are you supposed to talk about yourself in the first person?

Well, now we have the solution:

Apple is developing a permanent solution for the bug. They're expected to release that in a future update. In the meantime, a temporary solution is actually pretty easy, according to Apple
  1. Go to "Settings" -> "General" -> "Keyboard" -> "Text Replacement"
  2. Tap "+"
  3. In the Phrase field, type an uppercase "I"
  4. In the Shortcut field, type a lowercase "i"

Those simple four steps should do the trick (for now). You can go back to complaining about your other first world problems, like how you'll afford the hefty pricetag on the iPhone X.
