Jennifer Lopez revealed earlier today that she has not heard from some of her family in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria devastated the U.S. territory when it made landfall on Wednesday.

J.Lo described the hurricane’s devastation as being “beyond belief,” and went on to reveal that she and her cousin haven’t heard from some family on the island since the storm hit.

Lopez called on all to contribute to relief efforts for the island.

Please help us spread the word to help our fellow sisters and brothers in need #UnitedForPuertoRico #UnidosPorPuertoRico----

Maria made landfall as a category 4 hurricane early Wednesday. Electrical power has been knocked out to the entire island.

Jenny from the Block is not the only star who has not been able to reach family who reside in Puerto Rico. Of course, thousands of Americans on the mainland are experiencing the same stresses as they try to contact loved ones across the island.

Actress Rosie Perez revealed that she has struggled to get in touch with relatives in Puerto Rico. As of 12:30 pm (ET) on Friday (September 22), Perez mentioned that her sister-in-law was still "missing."

Actor and Hamilton composer Lin Manuel Miranda is of Puerto Rican descendent, and shared a screenshot showing the first text message from a loved one in Puerto Rico since the storm hit:

Meanwhile, a seemingly emotionally distraught Ricky Martin posted a Twitter video on Friday saying that Puerto Rico needed help:

Marc Anthony also expressed his concern for the effects that Maria had across Puerto Rico:

“Despacito” singer Daddy Yankee showed footage of relief efforts being prepared in New York:

Some experts worry that it will take months to restore power to the entire island. Aerial photos have shown the devastation. Flooding and wind damage looked very rough to homes and businesses everywhere.
