Jimmy Fallon Abruptly Cancels Friday's Episode of 'The Tonight Show'

Jimmy Fallon abruptly canceled Friday’s taping (November 3) of the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon due to a “personal matter.”

NBC has not commented on the specific nature of the Jimmy’s personal matter, but PEOPLE and Deadline.com are reporting that Fallon's mother, Gloria, is sick and has been hospitalized. Fallon is reportedly at her side. We do not know too much about her condition at this time.

Tonight’s originally scheduled guests were Saoirse Ronan, Julian Edelman, Clive Davis, and a performance from Wiz Khalifa and Ty Dolla $ign.

A repeat episode of the Tonight Show (originally recorded in September) featuring Madonna, Camila Cabello and Young Thug will air instead tonight.

Meanwhile, Fallon is not the only late night TV host to have taken time off from his show this week. ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel has been at home caring for his infant son, Billy, who is facing open heart surgery. Jimmy Kimmel Live! has featured a group of guest hosts including Shaq, Dave Grohl, Jennifer Lawrence and Channing Tatum this week.

We’re pulling for both late night hosts and their families!
