Justin Bieber Is Skipping the GRAMMY Awards... Because He's Working a New Album?

January 26, 2018

Justin Bieber won't attend this year's GRAMMY Awards, despite being featured on the GRAMMY nominated smash hit song, "Despacito."

This also means that Bieber won't be a part of Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi's previously announced performance of the song during the show.

Why is Bieber staying on the sidelines for Music's Biggest Night?

Well, TMZ is reporting that Bieber won't appear at any award show this year until his new album is released.

Let's be clear: we haven't heard anything about new music from the Biebs.

His last studio album, Purpose, dropped in 2015. Justin did, however, appear on several of 2017's biggest songs. He collaborated with BloodPop on "Friends," and he appeared on DJ Khaled's star-studded track, "I'm The One." Plus, we've already mentioned how successful "Despacito" was last year too.

Bieber's on-and-off-again girlfriend, Selena Gomez, was not nominated for any GRAMMY awards this year either.

The 2018 GRAMMY Awards will broadcast live from New York City's Madison Square Garden at 7:30 PM ET on CBS Sunday, January 28.
