Kim Cattrall just crushed our friendship dreams by revealing that the cast members of Sex and the City were never friends off the set.

Cattrall, who played the role of Samantha Jones on the hit HBO series, made the revelations in an interview with Piers Morgan for his Life Stories television program, which aired in the UK last night (October 23).

“We’ve never been friends,” she told Morgan. She went onto speak about drawing the line between professional and personal relationships.

Cattrall went on to respond to critics who blamed her for the cancelation of the third film in the Sex and the City movie series. Cattrall said she made the “empowered” decision last December to “end that chapter of her life” when she turned the opportunity to return to the movie franchise.

It does, however, sound like she’s not too thrilled with how Sarah Jessica Parker handled the whole Sex and the City 3 debacle. SJP expressed disappointment in interviews last month that the movie wouldn’t be happening.

Cattrall says that Sarah could have been nicer about the whole thing. “It’s a great part," Cattrall said speaking of her character, Samantha Jones. "I played it past the finish line and then some, and another actress should play it."
