Fans have been waiting for new music from Meghan Trainor for a while, and the wait will soon be over

The 24-year-old singer explained her absence from the music scene in an social media post on Sunday, but she also announced plans to release a brand new single this week.

In Sunday's post M-Train announced that she has been working hard on a new album. The album's first single, which is titled "No Excuses" will drop on Thursday (March 1).

Trainor won the GRAMMY for Best New Artist in 2016, and released a smash hit album Thank You that year, but the singer says that was where her struggles began.

I love you all so much! Thank you for loving me, supporting me and helping me realize what’s most important. There are NO EXCUSES, I’m gonna choose happiness..and I can’t wait to show you what I’ve learned/created for this third album. It’s my best work yet! #MTnoexcuses

“I endured a severe vocal chord hemorrhage and was forced to have surgery and to cancel all of my remaining concerts and commitments at the end of 2016," she wrote. "It was the darkest place I’ve ever experienced, and I was unsure if I’d ever come out of it…but I DID!”

The upcoming album will mark her first full album release since Thank You dropped in May 2016.  That album included the smash hit songs "Me Too" and "No."

"I recorded my favorite album that I've ever created. I regained control of my life and realized that there were 'NO EXCUSES' for me to not work on myself and focus on what matters most in my life," Meghan wrote in the post.

We can't wait for the new song, Meghan!
