Netflix Announces Sense8 Series Finale

But fans will have to wait until 2018

June 30, 2017

It will happen after all.

Sense8 fans will get to see the show's finale sometime next year (in 2018), according to Netflix. The characters from the show appeared in a short video on Thursday.

The cast sing the song “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes. At some point in the video, a message announcing the finale appears on the screen. “It’s happening. Two-hour finale episode. Tell your cluster," the message reads.

Fans were upset after the show was canceled earlier this month. The show aired on Netflix for two seasons.

Netflix has never publicly released ratings for original programming, but some reports wondered if the production costs were a factor. Some estimates say the show cost $9 million per episode to produce.
