Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just made their first public appearance since their engagement was announced earlier today (November 27).

The Royal Family announced the big news early Monday with a simple statement. They say the wedding will take place in the spring. The statement also said the engagement took place “earlier this month.”

Well, of course, we were ALL waiting to see the ring. And it happened just a few moments ago! The newly engaged pair appeared outside of Kensington Palace for a photocall. The couple expressed their excitement over the news, but of course, all eyes were on the bride-to-be's left hand:

CNN reports that Harry designed the ring. The ring’s center stone is from Botswana, and it is flanked by two diamonds from the personal collection of Princess Diana.

The ring’s band is made of gold, according to CNN:

The 33-year-old Prince has been dating the 36-year-old American actress since sometime back in 2016.

By the way, even Prince Harry has to ask for permission. PEOPLE reports that The Prince asked Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, for her permission to propose to Meghan.
