Selena Gomez was scared to go to rehab to tackle mental health issues last year, but she says those 90 days were "the best thing" that she could have ever done.

Gomez made the revelations in an interview with In Style for their September cover story

The 25-year-old pop star says that she was so focused on being like because fame had come to her at such an early age. While in the 90-day program, the "Fetish" singer said she didn't even have her cell phone with her. She shared that she "never even did" her hair while in the countryside.

The treatment she underwent, by the way, was equine therapy. Yes, equine-assisted therapy uses horses and other equines to promote human physcial and mental health.

Gomez says she's still in therapy, but hopes that opening about her struggles could help others.

The former star of "Wizards of Waverly Place" says that her relationship with The Weeknd is very healthy. She told In Style that she is not dependent on the 27-year-old musician for her happiness. She did, however, gush that he was "more of a best friend" to her than anything else.

Gomez, of course, is having a very successful year professionally. She was an executive producer on the hit Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, which has been picked up for a second season. Plus, her first two singles from her anticipated upcoming album have become smash hits. "Bad Liar" and "Fetish" both broke the top 20 on the Billboard music charts.
