The 23-year-old pop star, who has always been open about her battle with Lupus, shared the news of her kidney transplant on Instagram last month. It’s not clear when the transplant took place, but her friend, Francia Raisa (an actress on The Secret Life of the American Teenager), was the donor.
Selena’s new single, "Wolves," is a collaboration with Marshmello. The powerful vocals shine through on the track. Listen below:
Meanwhile, Selena will likely be cheering on her boyfriend at the American Music Awards next month. The Weeknd is up for several of the night’s big awards including favorite pop/rock album and collaboration of the year (with Daft Punk) for “Starboy.”
The American Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 19. The ceremony, which airs on ABC, begins at 8pm ET.
