Stranger Things Cast Performs as Motown Group with James Corden

November 9, 2017

Did you know that some of the cast of Stranger Things were actually part a Motown group (with late night TV host James Corden) before they joined the hit Netflix series?

The boys from Stranger Things continued their take over of the late night television circuit last night when they appeared on the Late Late Show With James Corden. Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers) and Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) were all there.

In a sketch that appeared as a “behind-the-music” style documentary they revealed that they were working with James Corden in a Motown group called the "Upside Downs."

They played weddings, nursing homes, you know… the big circuit before getting parts in Stranger Things. Corden didn’t get cast in the Netflix show, but the gang fondly recalled their days as a Motown group.

So, naturally, the reunited for a performance last night:

These kids can sing! They have a GREAT stage presence. In their medley of hits (performed about about 3:10 into the video), they hit the high notes on “I Want You Back,” “My Girl,” and “I’ll Be There.”

Even their dance moves are impressive. Who knew they had this hidden talent?!
