It's not easy to cover an iconic song from one of the biggest musicians of our lifetime, but we love what Demi Lovato & Q-Tip just did for one of Elton John's biggest hits.

The pair released their updated version of Elton's 1976 smash hit track, "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," today.

The track will be included in the upcoming two-part tribute album to Elton John that will drop later this spring. Lovato and Q-Tip's "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" will appear on the Revamp album in that project. Artists like Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran, Mary J. Blige (and many more) will also appear on the large tribute album, which is slated for release on April 6.

Covering an iconic track like this from one of the world's most beloved performers could make for a daunting task, but these two stars did not disappoint us with this one.

Today's release has a bit of Motown vibe, but we're totally feeling that vibe.

"I remember the premiere of 'Don’t Go Breaking My Heart' with Kiki Dee and seeing it as a kid and loving it," Q-Tip said in a press release. "Rhythmically, we just wanted to make it a little funkier.”
