The movie centers of the life of a fictional Georgia high school student named Simon Spier (played by actor Nick Robinson). Simon, who admits he lives

Simon develops a relationship with an anonymous fellow closeted classmate online, while struggling with coming out. Jennifer Garner, Josh Duhamel, Katherine Langford, Tony Hale, and more star in the movie as well.

Three other songs from Bleachers ("Rollercoaster," "Keeping a Secret," and "Wild Heart") are also featured on the movie's soundtrack.

The incredibly talented 33-year-old musician's role in the soundtrack didn't end there. Antonoff, who served as the executive producer for the movie's soundtrack, curated the film's soundtrack (which includes songs from Troye Sivan, The 1975, Normani, and Khalid).

Antonoff has said in interviews that he worked closely with the film's director, Greg Berlanti, to create the perfect vibe for the movie.

"It's essentially a film about a character who is just carrying this weight everywhere and it just gets heavier because he can't share it," Antonoff says in the clip above. "This idea, which is a place that I write from a lot, and it was very inspiring to me of dragging all of this weight around and trying to be a human being throughout that."

"When music and film is done correctly, it is so incredibly satisfying," Jack shared in a recent interview about the soundtrack. "You're seeing two things that are turning into one, and you didn't even know that was meant to happen. Then you can't even imagine a world without it."

Love, Simon opens in theaters nationwide on Friday (March 16).
