Miley Cyrus brought a piece of “Malibu” to New York on Friday (May 26), but she also also showed off her Nashville roots when she performed on the TODAY show.

The 24-year-old singer said she was actually sick yesterday, according to an Instagram post. Well, fans certainly couldn’t tell that she was under the weather when she belted out “Malibu” on the TODAY show stage.

Miley took the time to acknowledge the tragedy in Manchester. She said that she can’t wait to give Ariana Grande a hug, and she has reflected on how it affected all performers.

Yes, Miley kicked off the holiday weekend in style with two additional songs. She covered “Jolene” from her godmother, Dolly Parton. Plus, we loved her performance of “We Can’t Stop,” and it didn’t even include any twerking.
