Sometimes you have to go with the original. Kelly Clarkson is ABC's top choice for a judging role on the American Idol reboot.

The television network is seriously interested in Kelly, and it sounds like Kelly is also very interested in a role on the show. In fact, TMZ says that the 35-year-old singer is already clearing her schedule for filming

Filming could be a little easier for the "Piece by Piece" singer than it was for the show's previous judges. The reboot is not expected to travel to different cities for auditions. Instead, the auditions would be filmed only at Disney World and possibly Disneyland. That'll make it easier on everyone, and of course, it would be cheaper on the show's wallet.

The show may also only air one day a week (instead of two). So that would make scheduling for the judges much easier. Plus, if Ryan Seacrest hops on board as the host, it would make his travel schedule easier between New York and Los Angeles.

We may not have to wait too long to see if Kelly locks into the judging panel. The Hollywood Reporter says that ABC is hoping to unveil the show's talent roster at a presentation next week (May 16) to ad buyers
