15 Things You Should Never Say to a Woman

I bet you can add a few to this list!

I often wonder if people think before they speak. Some of the things that come out of a person's mouth are just wrong and completely rude.

No one is immune to getting rude comments, but because someone made a crappy comment to me today, it inspired me to create this list. There are things that men, children, and even other women say to us ladies that is not okay at all! I came up with five things off the top of my head and asked some friends on Facebook to help me add to the list and wow! Many of the things on this list of no no's are no-brainers, but some may surprise you. Did someone say that to you? Really?!?!

I hurt my neck over the weekend and thought with some Tylenol and a heating pad it would get better. I even went to get a massage Monday, but my neck just got worse. Last night while eating dinner the pain got so bad that my vision became blurred and I felt like I was going to faint. The neck pain traveled to my jaw and caused a massive migraine-like headache. Needless to say, I had to go to the emergency room and I was there until 2am! I strained this complicated muscle in my neck and it caused this crazy spasm.

So I'll start the list with the comment someone said to me today.

15 Things You Should Never Say to a Woman

1. You look tired! Thanks, jerk! Why would some random person you know as just an acquaintance feel that they could say such a thing?

2. Are you sick? Just because I don't have on my full face of makeup does not mean I am sick.

3. When are you due? I didn't know you were expecting! I remember a guy asking me this in a store a few years back and I wanted to crawl into the floor and hide. Never, ever, ever ask a woman when she's due unless you know 1000% she's pregnant! And even then, I'd double check before making such a comment.

4. You should smile more! Some people just have a neutral face or maybe a resting "B" face and that's okay. What's not okay is you telling me how my facial expressions should be.

5. Women over the age of 30 shouldn't wear (fill in the blank)! Settle down Anna Wintour wanna-be! Last time I checked you don't make the rules. And just because you're whatever age and don't feel comfortable wearing said item doesn't mean that I can't. If I feel good in it, I will wear it!

6. You're so emotional!  This is not the way to respond to a woman when you're arguing or she's feeling frustrated!

7. What were you expecting wearing that?  Just because we are wearing a certain type of clothing or an outfit does not mean we are asking to be catcalled or harassed!

8. Is it your time of the month?  Again, I would think most people know this is something you should not say, but alas many of the ladies I asked to help me make this list mentioned this one! Even if it is my time of the month, it's none of your business.

9. Calm Down! These words should never be uttered during an argument or heated discussion. Again, do not tell me how to feel.

10. Maybe you should start working out? This comment implies that we are out of shape or have a weight issue. Women battle inner demons every single day about what they look like and how it measures up to what society wants. So just shut it.

11. Did you put on a few pounds? Just look above for why this is not okay!

12. Stop being crazy! No one wants to be called or considered crazy so just don't go here.

13. Are you gonna eat that? Is that your second plate? We do not need you to police what we are eating or how much we are eating.

14. You need to develop tougher skin!

15. You look thinner in your pictures! It's not okay to comment on my weight or anyone else's for that matter. If you've done the online dating thing, you may have heard this comment.

With that being said, I will add that there are many items on this list that shouldn't be said to men or anyone! Men struggle with self-confidence issues and body issues too! I think we just all need to learn to be nicer to one another!

Did I miss any ladies?
