Some people just cannot seem to be pulled away from work to take time to decompress and enjoy a vacation. The statistics on how much vacation time is wasted in our country is insane. More people would rather lose their paid vacation days. In most companies, if you don't use those days you lose them. That means you really missed out and the company gained.

According to a new study, taking vacation time off from work actually can help us live longer. Most companied give their workers two weeks paid vacation time per year, but that's not enough. Three weeks of vacation is what resesrch has found to be the most beneficial. The study looked at middle-aged executives over 40 years of age and found that at least three weeks off each year can extend life expectancy.

Those who took less than three weeks off had a 37 percent greater chance of dying early with cardiovascular disease being the main concern.

So what's the take-away here? Even if you are somewhat healthy, overworking can lead to an early death! Use your time even if it's for a staycation and some relaxation at home!
