Every workplace setting is different, so maybe some of these items don't apply to the place where you work. It seems that more and more offices are becoming more relaxed when it comes to acceptable office attire. And if they aren't, they will sometimes have casual Fridays where people can dress down a bit from the typical dress code.

There's a new study out from TotalJobs.com that lists the five items of clothing people should never, ever wear to work. Let's see how many of these things you've worn to your workplace.

1. Shorts

2. Hoodies/Track suits

3. Slogan T-shirts

4. Hats

5. Flip-flops

I would agree with this list if you work in a bank office or somewhere where you will encounter clients or customers on a regular basis. But again, some offices make these wardrobe choices 100% okay. Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerburg is always pictured wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and a hoodie.

Ever hear the saying, "dress for the job you want not the job you have?" Maybe you aren't being promoted or taken seriously because of your fashion choices. I dress nice for work, but I go more for business/casual. I wear nice dark wash jeans and a sweater or cute top to work typically. If I am feeling sick though, I will come in wearing athletic wear like yoga pants and a sweatshirt, but that's very rare.
