I'm sorry, but I don't agree with this list at all!

People get so crazy about wedding planning. They want every single detail to be perfect and their special day to go off with a hitch.

I get it because weddings are something you hope to have once in your life and on average cost about $37k in the United States. But after the ceremony and once you are officially man and wife, it's time to calm down and do some partying at the reception.

I've been to some amazing receptions and some really boring and terrible ones too. I found that generally, the ones that were bad had nothing to do with decor or the food. It was all about the entertainment or lack of entertainment.

There's a list of some of the most banned songs at Weddings going around and I have to say, I don't agree with most of them. I know wedding receptions have some traditional dances like the bride and groom's first dance, the bride and father dance, the money dance, etc. My issue with this list is that many of these songs are well known to people of all ages. Wedding receptions typically have a large age range of guests and you need to try and please everyone.

5 of the Most Banned Wedding Songs according to a poll of wedding DJs:

1. "YMCA" by the Village People- sure the song is a bit annoying and lord knows I don't want to hear it every day, it's a song that gets people dancing.

2. "Love Shack" by the B-52's- Again, this song gets people on the dance floor and singing along.

3. The "Chicken Dance"- I'm from Pennsylvania and this is a wedding reception tradition.

4. "The Electric Slide"- I'm sorry, but as soon as I hear "It's electric" my butt is getting out of my chair and heading to the dance floor. This is one of those songs that can get everyone up and dancing. Isn't that what you want at your reception?

5. "The Hokey Pokey"- This is a NO for me. Why would you play this at a reception? I guess it's okay if you have a ton of little kids at your reception.
