Those who fail to plan, plan to fail, right? Black Friday can be a challenging day for some shoppers. The sales ads have been out for a bit now so you may already know exactly what you want to get when the store's doors open on Thanksgiving, but it's not that easy.

Black Friday and Thanksgiving means lots of other people coming out for those same incredible deals. There will likely be long lines and even people that are camping out days ahead of time too. And let's not forget that the real good doorbuster deals are only available in minimal quantities.

So what are some ways you can make sure you save the most shopping? Here are a couple of tricks from Yahoo.

1. Do your research: Make a list of the items you want and then see what retailers are offering them on sale. See if the deals are available in pre-Black Friday sales and buy them before the rush if you can. Compare prices and availability too.

2. Make a plan: That $99 flat screen TV will only be available in limited quantities, so it's best to grab that item first. Plan out what stores you will hit first and do some online research to find out where the item may be placed in the store so you can go in a get it ASAP. Start with the high ticket items first because getting them on sale is better than getting small items on sale. You'll save more in the long run.

3. Sign up for emails and sales advertisements: Receiving these ads can mean more discount codes and maybe some coupons to save more on the items that you want too.

4. Get family and friends to help on your mission: Hitting 5 stores for doorbuster deals is not going to be successful if you are working alone. If you recruit family and friends, you can divide and conquer.

5. Be Willing to Stay Up All Night: Some of those doorbusters won't be available until midnight so you will have to plan to stand in line earlier and stay out to the wee hours to get what you want.

There are plenty of websites, and twitter handles that can help you plan a successful Black Friday shopping trip you just need to find them. What items are you hoping to get this year?
