The Holiday shopping season is here and will be in full force come Black Friday. It can be stressful finding the perfect gift for that hard to shop for person or someone who seems to have everything. I see that most people drop some hint or a bunch of clues about what they may want under their tree this year.

If you're struggling though, these are the gifts you may want to avoid because they've been deemed the worst gifts to give or get for Christmas according to a new study

1. Ugly clothing: Clothing is a hard thing to buy for people because everyone has their style and let's not even talk about the insanity that is sizing from store to store and brand to brand. The good news is that ugly clothing or things that are just not right for you can always be exchanged for a better option.

2. Toiletry kits: I don't see why this is on the list. If you go to a fancy spot like Nordstrom or The Art of Shaving, they have some pretty fantastic toiletry kits for men. And what's wrong with getting a beautiful leather toiletry bag?

3. Bath salts/Bubble bath: Okay, I understand why this is on the list. These are everyday items that people regift to others in a pinch. Drugstore bubble bath just seems like the gift was an afterthought. But if you go to a place like Lush Cosmetics for their bath products, this gift is 100% a win! Well, it can be a bad gift if someone doesn't like to take baths.

4. Candles: Again, I think this gift gets a bad rap because it's often regifted. But Yankee Candles are amazing and not cheap so any candle lover would love to get one or six for Christmas.

5. A scarf: They aren't for everyone, but if someone loves to wear scarves this can be a great present. It can be an even better present if you find one that's cashmere or you go for the Burberry staple scarf.

Gift giving is all about knowing the person you are buying for and what they like. Here are a few more fun facts from the gift giving study. Romantic partners tend to give the best gifts. the worst gifts come from the in-laws.
