Airline Will Soon Offer In-Flight Texting

September 28, 2017

Sitting on a plane for hours flying to your destination can get a bit boring. Plus, the seats aren't the most comfortable and there's really no room to stretch out and get comfortable.

One airline is going to help improve their traveler's experience by offering in-flight text messaging! Say what?!?

Wi-fi has been available on flights for years now, but it will cost you. Delta is about to change the game though because their in-flight text messaging will actually be free. There's a catch of course.

If you have an iPhone and the person you're wanting to text has an Android, you won't be able to send the message via SMS. You will be able to send messages via iMessage, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger. So in that case, you'd have to use one of the other options mentioned to send your text. But still, it's super easy and will make keeping in touch with those 30-thousand feet below simple.

Now that Delta is offering texting people want to know when they may be able to make phone calls on their phones. Check out Delta's CEO, Ed Bastian below.

Thank God the CEO is against in-flight phone calls. It's hard enough going to a restaurant or being in line at stores with rude people on their phones.

The free text messaging will be available this Sunday, October 1st.
