Amazon Now Offers Instant Pickup

They're taking over the World...

August 16, 2017

Amazon is slowly and slowly killing off a lot of other retail stores.

Online shopping used to be a huge pain for some items because it would take forever for them to arrive at your house. But Amazon's done something about that by offering Prime shipping which means most items will arrive in two days or less. And if you're super impatient, you can have your stuff sooner with their same-day delivery option here in Charlotte. Place your order and you can have it delivered in one to two hours.

Still not satisfied? Still want your item faster? Amazon just rolled out their Instant Pickup Option. This new option is only available around five colleges, but will most likely be offered in more locations soon.

So how does it work? Shoppers will use the Amazon APP to order from hundreds of items at the location nearest them. They place their order and within moments the items are put into an Amazon Locker by an employee. Consumers will use barcodes to access their orders.

"I want to buy a can of coke because I’m thirsty," said Ripley MacDonald, Amazon's director of student programs. "There’s no chance I’m going to order that on Amazon.com and wait however long it’s going to take for that to ship to me." But now you can have that coke within two minutes.

So not only is Amazon going after mom and pop retailers and major retail chains, now they are jeopardizing convenient stores as well.

I'll say it again, Amazon is slowly taking over the World.
