It's pure sugar!

Not all Halloween candy is created equal. There is some candy that people just prefer way more than other types. For me, it's the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. It's my favorite. On the flip side, I despise candy corn.

If you're heading to the store to pick up your candy and goodies for the little ghosts and princesses that will be coming to your home trick or treating, these are the healthiest and unhealthiest choices

Let's start with the 3 worst choices health wise.

1. Candy Corn: This is good news for me because I hate it. If you love it, you may want to think twice because it's really not good for you at all. One serving size, 19 pieces, is 28 grams of sugar. Plus if it's not super fresh it can be hard on the teeth.

2. Tootsie Rolls: 6 pieces will set you back 20 grams of sugar.

3. Twizzlers: NO! I love these. 3 pieces add up to 90 calories and who can just eat 3 in one sitting.

What's the healthier candy options:

1. Gummy Worms: 8 worms is only 100 calories. They also come in small, individual-sized packages making it easier to keep your portions in control.

2. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups: Thank you, God! Ok, if you take a half a bag to the face well they aren't good for you. But the interesting caveat with these is that they have two grams of protein and even some fiber per cup. That's a win!

3. Blow Pops: I love these for a long road trip. They are pretty low in calories, but the best part is if you actually suck on the blow pop it takes a while to consume it which means you aren't stuffing your face with other things.

What was your favorite Halloween candy as a child?

Candy in general isn't very good for you especially if you eat a ton of it. There are other options to give out to the trick or treaters.
