Celebrities Are Taking Kevin Hart's Harvey Relief Challenge

Who's donated what to the Hurricane relief fund?

August 30, 2017

The remnants of Hurricane Harvey continue to dump record rainfall in Southeast Texas. As the water rises, more and more people are under mandatory evacuation orders or are needing to be rescued from their homes.

Comedian Kevin Hart took to social media on late Sunday to challenge other celebrities to step up and donate to the Harvey relief fund.

I'm calling this the Hurricane Harvey Relief Challenge....Lets go @therock @beyonce @chrisrock Jay Z Dave Chappelle @jerryseinfeild @iamsteveharveytv @justintimberlake #HurricaneHarveyReliefChallenge #prayforhouston .....I am getting a link together now people. Help me help Houston....

And they are stepping up!

Sandra Bullock donated $1 million to The Red Cross' relief fund.  "I'm just grateful I can do it," she in a statement. "We have to take care of one another." Bullock also noted that the disaster should bring Americans together. "There are no politics in eight feet of water," she declares. "There are human beings in eight feet of water." She has a point. So many people are still focusing on the politics and not actually helping people and that just sucks.

And in less than 48 hours Kevin Hart's fund has raised almost $1 million too!

We are almost at 1million dollars from 48hrs of donations people....I can't tell you how much your support means. When we as people come togther we can do amazing things. Love & positivity will always win. Let's show all of the victims of Hurricane Harvey that they are loved & that they have our support. Again thank you for helping me with this movement!!! I'm not a fan of the Kardashian's, but they stepped up and made a $500k donation too!

The football team The Texans also made a donation too.

If I had $100k I would give it to the fund. It's so hard seeing all of these people leaving their homes with just the clothes on their backs knowing that they will come back to a complete loss.

Remember, you can make a donation through your cell provider by texting "Harvey" to 90999!
