Could Justin and Janet Reunite for Super Bowl Halftime Show?

They were both banned for life after 2004's incident!

October 9, 2017

We are still waiting for confirmation that Justin Timberlake will be performing at this year's Super Bowl Halftime show in February.

The rumors have been going around for the past two weeks or so, but we have yet to get official word from the NFL or Justin's people. Look, I would love to see him do the show and I know he'd put on an incredible performance.

But... I think we all need to remember what happened in 2004 when he performed with Janet Jackson. Call it what you want, but there was some sort of accidental or planned wardrobe malfunction that exposed Janet's pierced nipple for all of the World to see.

Nipplegate, as the event was appropriately named, is allegedly responsible for the creation of video sharing service YouTube. Did you know that? The event also became the most watched, recorded and replayed television moment in TiVo history and "enticed an estimated 35,000 new [TiVo] subscribers to sign up".

But CBS television paid hefty fines for the event and Justin and Janet were allegedly banned for life from ever performing during any NFL event.

Now thirteen years later, it seems Justin's getting a free pass to perform this year. Again, I am all for him performing, but I don't think it's fair if he can perform and Janet cannot. Why does he get a get out of jail free card?

But maybe she too is part of the grand plan? TMZ caught up with Janet after her show and asked about the possibility of a Super Bowl performance. But she had no comment.
