I have lived in the South for almost eight years now and have yet to try deep-fried turkey! Don't get me wrong, I would love to try it because I hear it's amazing and so moist, but I just haven't had the chance yet. Plus, it seems that every single Holiday season the news is flooded by people who made some mistake deep frying the bird and ended up burning down their house or getting third-degree burns.

This video shows just some of what can go wrong when you don't know what you're doing.

If you want to enjoy this deep-fried delicacy without risk, you can always order it from Bojangles

If you want to do it yourself, just make sure you follow these tips to make sure you are safe! It's estimated that 4300 people burn their house down every year trying to fry their Thanksgiving bird. That's a lot, y'all!

The most important things to know when trying to fry a turkey is that you shouldn't do it while intoxicated, indoors, and you need to make sure the turkey is completely thawed out and dried after brining.
