Did the Apple Watch Save A Man's Life?

October 18, 2017

Some people think smartwatch technology is a waste. The watches tend to be pretty expensive and have a lot of features that our phones have already.

But this story may change your mind about the Apple Watch. I've had mine since last Summer because it helps remind me to get up and walk around through the workday and keeps track of the calories I burn during my workouts.

In case you didn't know, the Apple Watch has a heart rate monitor built into it. This features allegedly saved a man's life. New York resident James Green, 28, received a notification from his watch that his heart rate was way above his normal rate.

Green was having other symptoms and immediately went to the hospital where a CT scan revealed he was having a pulmonary embolism, a blood clot in his lungs.

The APP that notified him was the HeartWatchAPP. Now excuse me while go and download it for my watch.
