Doing This Can Make You A Happier Person

July 17, 2017

Want to be a happier person?

You may think that treating yourself to a massage, that purse you've been wanting at the mall, or a food treat may do the trick. But you'd be wrong. While all of those things will make you happier, the happiness is short lived. If you want more long term happiness you need to direct your good deeds and treats towards others.

I remember back in 2005 I was living in Portland, Oregon and I was miserable. I treated myself a lot to all kinds of random things like shoes, makeup, clothes, and even a new Acura. But that happy feeling didn't last very long so I had to go and buy something else to get my happiness fix.

This new study has found that people who are generous and give to others tend to be happier people. Even people with less money or material objects were happier if they were giving to others.

The good news, you don't have to drop $100 on a friend for their Birthday. Even spending $25 or buying them a few drinks will have the same positive result and make you happier.
