If you are looking for an excuse to eat some chocolate today, I found one for you. 

There's a new study out on the benefits of eating chocolate, and it's all good news for us chocolate lovers. But you need to make sure you're choosing the right chocolate to get the full benefits. 

Dark chocolate is the way to go according to researchers at Loma Linda University's School of Allied Health Professions. They gave study participants a piece of dark chocolate every two hours they were awake for several days. Lee Burk, the lead researcher in the study, said, "blood tests revealed the chocolate influenced gene activity, increased anti-inflammatory agents, and increased infection-fighting cells." 

What does that mean in lay men's terms? Dark chocolate can help fight stress, inflammation, improve our moods, memory, and immunity! Win, win, win, baby! 

But don't go and grab any old dark chocolate. There are specific details you need to look for in your chocolate if you want to reap these benefits. 

Make sure the dark chocolate has 70% or higher cacao in it.
