Facebook Finally Gets Rid of Creepy Poke Feature

If you're poking me, you might be a stalker...

July 17, 2017

Finally, Facebook is saying buh-bye to one of its creepier features the poke option. Seriously, who came up with that in the first place? And why hasn't it been taken away sooner?

The only people who ever used that poke feature were creepers and weirdos. Seriously, none of my friends, family, or coworkers ever poked me on Facebook. Lord knows if they did, we'd have to have a little chat.

Maybe it was the word poke that just made it worse. So the option to poke someone is going away, but it is being replaced. Soon when you visit someone's profile you will see a new option next to add friend.

But Hello is the normal way to greet someone so what's the big deal? Apparently, it makes facebook stalking harder to do because it's so easy to accidentally hit the Hello button. Lucky for me, that option hasn't rolled out onto my Facebook page yet.

Now if you hit the Hello button and didn't mean to do it, there's a way to undo it. Re-click hello before the other person has seen it and they will be none the wiser. Now if the person is on Facebook constantly, they may see it right away and you're just screwed!

Has the new Hello feature shown up on your Facebook yet?
