This Gross Habit is Good for You?

May 9, 2017

We've all been stuck at a red light and glanced over and saw someone two knuckles deep digging in their nose. Yuck! Or we always have to yell at toddlers and young children about picking boogies because it's nasty. Well, forget what we've known all these years because apparently, it's not bad at all.

A whole bunch of smart people from places like MIT got together to do a study and found that eating boogers can actually be good for us. Excuse me while I go gag!

How is that even possible? Apparently, the mucus in boogers has tons of bacteria in it and it helps build up the immune system. Oh, and if you want to protect your teeth, you better start digging for gold now because eating boogers can help your chompers too.

According to the American Society for Microbiology, snot can actually help keep bacteria and plaque from forming on the teeth.

Yup, I'm good. I'll take the risk that bacteria sticks to my teeth!
