How Much Exercise Does It Take To Burn Off Your Favorite Adult Drink?

It's patio, pool, lake, and beach season. Likely that means you'll be indulging in some ice cold, adult beverages. Perhaps it's your favorite beer or something frozen with an umbrella in it, either way, these drinks can have a lot of empty calories in them. 

Obviously, all alcoholic drinks aren't created equally. Some contain fruit juice mixers that make them super high in calories. In fact, mixed drinks are typically the worst option if you're trying to count your calories. You can see an entire list of the worst drinks for your waistline here.

For example, a mudslide will cost you 350 calories. That's the same as a meal, FYI! To burn it off you'd have to run for 31 minutes, bike for 1 hour 20 minutes, or do 1 hour and 24 minutes worth of pilates.

Beer, on the other hand, is a better option as it has fewer calories. But just one beer will set you back anywhere from 125-210 calories.  Who really only drinks one beer at a time? So if you drink three beers...well you can do the math. One beer will require anywhere between 15 minutes and 45 minutes of activity!

So what did we learn today? It's best to think before you drink. I'd rather eat a piece of cake than drink a bunch of alcohol.
