How Often Do You Wash Your Sheets?

Probably not nearly enough.

spring has sprung and it's time to do a deep clean of your home. Some people are clean freaks. Some people are right in the middle. And other people live like complete slobs.

When I was single, I saw some of the grossest bathrooms ever in the homes of some of the men I was dating. Their bathrooms were so cringeworthy, it was a straight up deal breaker.

But let's get back to the topic of sheets and bedding. I'd like to consider myself a bit of a bedding snob. When it comes to sheets, I like mine to have a higher thread count because they just feel better. Who wants to sleep on cheap, sandpaper low thread count sheets? Not this girl!

A new study just came out from Mattress Advisor and it's going to make you cringe. How often do you think you should change your sheets? The correct answer according to the experts is once a week. People tend to get hot and sweaty when they sleep. Plus, dirty sheets don't feel nice on my body. I can totally tell when the sheets aren't clean. They don't feel crisp and cold when I slip into bed.

So what did this study find about our sheet washing habits? The average person isn't doing it nearly enough and they wait 24 days to wash their sheets. But that's not the worst part of the study.

Men, I am looking at you because I am horrified by these statistics! Men average about 30 days between cleanings. If they have a one night stand, they keep those dirty sex sheets on their bed for 18 days! Eek! Gag! Gross! Single men are by far the worst offenders with sheet cleanliness. They typically wait 45 whole days to wash their bedding.

You can read more about the findings of the study below.

I have a feeling more people will be heading home to wash their bedding today after this study has come out.
