Kelly Clarkson Felt Suicidal When She was Forced to be Thin
Kelly's sharing the details of a dark time in her life.
Kelly Clarkson is amazing. She's super talented, and she's real. She's not afraid to be herself and have a voice and use it to help others.
Over the last few years, she's battled many internet trolls that were shamming her for gaining some weight or not being the thin Kelly Clarkson we saw on the first seasons of American Idol. The entertainment industry can be very harsh on people, especially women and their appearances. Men can get away with being overweight or not as attractive and go far. Women are pressured to look a certain way and sometimes that makes the person lose their true self.
That's the case for Kelly Clarkson who was told to lose weight when she was on the original season of American Idol. But what did Kelly's weight have to with her being able to be the best singer on the show?
She did an in-depth interview with Attitude’s Awards Issue and talked about how hard it was for her.
She shared: “When I was really skinny, I wanted to kill myself. I was miserable, like inside and out, for four years of my life. But no one cared, because aesthetically you make sense.”
