Kelly's Hair Dilemma: To Perm Or Not to Perm?

September 25, 2017

No, you haven't jumped into a time machine that's taken you back to the 80's. The hair back in the day was oh-so-bad with the teased bangs and featured looks. And if you were like me, you went faithfully to the salon to get a perm every three months or so. My hair was poker straight and back then, a perm was a semi-quick way to get the curly hair you always wanted.

Of course, getting a perm wasn't a small task. It took four hours with the rolling of the hair and all the chemicals required to get your straight hair to stay curly. And remember the smell of the perm solution? It was the worst.

So why am I reminiscing about perms in 2017? Because I am sick of my flat hair. I am tired of trying to get the right curls using a flat iron, curling iron, and even a curling wand. BTW, the curling wand is awesome except I keep burning myself. I also don't have time to sit there every morning and curl my hair. Plus, all that heat on my hair isn't good.

Here's what I am contemplating. Watch the video below.

Julianne Hough's hair in her wedding photo below is what I am looking for.

The weekend finally arrived- And it was MAGICAL!!! I need to talk to my gal Morgan at T. Reid & Company and see what she thinks. I sure hope after all of these years that perms take less time and don't stink like they did.
