Valentine's Day is 10 days away. Hopefully, if you're in a relationship or married you've already ordered the flowers and made your plan on how you'll be celebrating. If not, well you better get to it because your options are shrinking by the minute.

I found an interesting article on the absolute bare minimum you need to do to show you somewhat care for someone on Valentine's Day. And I was actually surprised that even the bare minimum is going to set you back a hefty amount of cash.

So what does the least amount of effort look like or cost?

According to a study done by Groupon, a man needs to spend at least $179!!! That's a lot of money if you are just doing the smallest amount required. Now we did learn last week that the average meal for a couple on the 14th will cost around $170. So I suppose with dinner and a card, he's done what's considered the least amount of effort.

And speaking of cards... You're going to need to get one and write at least four sentences if you want to show you care. If you only sign it, that shows zero effort.

If you're married or with a woman that works extra long hours or has kids, you may want to consider some of these non-traditional gift ideas.

I am not a huge fan of over-commercialized holidays. If someone really cares for you, they'll show you every day and get you flowers just because it's a random Thursday not because they're pressured by society. But I do look forward to spending V-day with my amazing boyfriend this year and treating him to a nice home cooked meal and pampering too.
